The University of Warwick, Advanced Propulsion Centre, and Zenzic have joined the Plug and Play UK’s Mobility programme, which launches with a kick-off event at Jaguar Land Rover’s research collaboration hub at the National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC). The University of Warwick becomes the programme’s founding academic partner.

Google for Startups has announced the 40 Black-led tech startups receiving grants from its $4m (approx £3mn) Black Founders Fund across Europe, created to tackle racial inequality in venture capital funding for startups. The announcement follows a series of launch events across Europe, in London, Paris and Berlin, including a gathering hosted by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, at City Hall for a group of London-based founders as part of the capital’s London Tech Week celebrations.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed delegates at Dublin Tech Summit this afternoon, ahead of the close of the two-day event. Appearing via 3D hologram, the President spoke directly to Europe’s top tech entrepreneurs, investors and corporate leaders, across six of Europe’s top tech conferences. He compelled the region’s most influential innovators to donate financial and technological resources to begin rebuilding Ukraine. Zelensky’s presence, albeit virtually, captured the attention of attendees and speakers alike, with many audience members visibly moved by his emotive words.
