Touristech Startup Fest 2024 Call Open for disruptive startups in the Travel Tech sector
Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS) returns to Seville, Spain, from 23 to 25 October along with a new edition of the Touristech Startup Fest 2024 entrepreneurship competition, an event aimed at all those national and international startups that want to present their innovation projects with which they are transforming, reactivating and bringing new business models in the tourism sector to the industry and to Travel Tech investment funds.
In this way, TIS2024, the technological event that seeks to improve the competitiveness of the travel and tourism sector by promoting smarter, digital and sustainable tourism, is once again opening the call for proposals from startups that will compete with innovative projects that are transforming the tourism sector. A new call that is expected to surpass the more than 400 startups that participated in the last edition. Startups with solutions in AI, Data, Business Intelligence, automation, 5G, AR/VR, and cybersecurity, among other technologies, applicable in the different segments of the tourism industry (hotels, tourist transport, distribution channels and OTAs, leisure and cultural tourism, tourist activities and attractions, smart destinations, and the MICE and Business Travel sector) are called.
A total of 40 startups will be selected and will have the opportunity to present their projects to investors, venture capitalists and leading tourism companies that come to TIS looking for the most disruptive technological projects. The winners of the Touristech Startup Fest will have the opportunity to access different prizes and acceleration, mentoring or training programs to help them scale their business and test it in the industry. Companies interested in participating can submit their projects here until 20 September.
In the last edition, the Touristech Startup Fest awarded a dozen startups for their AI solutions to personalise the tourism experience, digital hotel twins, automation and robotics for the hotel industry, as well as software to improve the management and operations of tourism businesses.
For Silvia Avilés, director of TIS - Tourism Innovation Summit, ‘the tourism sector is in a transformative moment, driven by technology, sustainability and the new preferences of travelers, who demand more personalised and unique experiences. In this context, showcasing the most disruptive solutions from startups is essential to further stimulate innovation and improve the competitiveness of the tourism industry".
