The CIBER-SHUBE project, implemented under the public invitation for collaboration in the promotion of Strategic Cybersecurity Projects in Spain, is co-funded by INCIBE and the University of Salamanca under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union (Next Generation EU).

On 9 April, the Providencia headquarters in Santiago de Chile hosted the sixth edition of Startup OLÉ Chile '24, an event within the LATAM Roadshow of Startup OLÉ, the leading European event for entrepreneurship and technological innovation in Latin America. This event interconnected the entrepreneurial ecosystems of Latin America with Spain and Europe, with the participation of corporations, investors, accelerators and Spanish and European media, putting them in contact with the best Ibero-American startups and scaleups. There was also a presentation of the new features and benefits that Startup OLÉ and CIBER-SHUBE bring to the ecosystem, as well as exclusive content with great speakers at round tables and plenary talks, pitch competitions, matchmaking activities and networking cocktails. It also had the support of the National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE), the University of Salamanca, Prochile, Venture Capital and the Municipality of Providencia.

The event's agenda included a pitch competition in which a total of 12 startups presented their projects to a jury of investors and corporate representatives. In this sense, Beeing Company emerged as the winner of the competition. Securetia and Innova Space came second and third, respectively. These top 3 startups in the competition will receive a direct pass to the Startup OLÉ Salamanca pitch competition, which will take place from 8 to 10 October, where they will also be able to enjoy all the services that Startup OLÉ offers startups (stand at the startup fair, participation in round tables, full access to networking and matchmaking activities and access to the digital networking app) free of charge. The remaining 9 qualified startups will receive a free stand at Startup OLÉ Salamanca, access to the networking app and the possibility to participate in the matchmaking activities and pitch competition of Startup OLÉ Salamanca.

There was also a face-to-face matchmaking activity where entrepreneurs and investors could get to know each other in a private and relaxed way; and two round tables, dedicated to the role of institutions in the ecosystem and investment in new technologies, with a strong focus on cybersecurity. Participants included Matías Mandiola, Head of Innovation at ProChile; Javiera Araneda, Deputy Manager of Start-Up Chile at Corfo; Mauricio Brito, Director of HUB Providencia; Diego Larraín, Director of Hub Vitacura; Rafael Gotelli, Strategy & Growth Manager at ISBAST; Konrad Fernández, Scouting and DueDiligence at Chile Ventures; Cristian Guardia, Managing Partner of Add Ventures; Karina Zúñiga, Portfolio Manager of Digevo Ventures; Mario Núñez, Zone Representative of IncubatecUFRO; Thomas Veszpremy, Senior Legal Associate of Alster; Alejandro Carboni, Partner of Impacta VC; or Robinson Soto, Director of Operations of VC Group.

CIBER-SHUBE Project

Startup OLÉ Chile was also the first CIBER-SHUBE Startup OLÉ Latam/USA Roadshow event. This project is framed within the activities of CID 245 of the PRTR, an indicator set by the European Commission ("Implementation of the National Cybersecurity Industry Support Programme, the Global Security Innovation Programme and related actions"). Specifically, through the development of high added value solutions and services in the field of cybersecurity; and training and development of specialised talent in the field of cybersecurity.

To this end, CIBERSECURITY SPAIN HUB ESPAÑA (CIBER-SHUBE) defines, through a transnational project, a set of activities in the fields of Cybersecurity, Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship to promote reforms that help and accelerate the economic and social recovery of Spain, with support from the funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the Digital Spain 2026 agenda, focusing on five transversal axes, such as job creation, ecological transition, social and territorial cohesion, digitalisation and gender equality. Based on this, one of the objectives of CIBER-SHUBE is to promote the development of the cybersecurity culture, as well as to support the creation of new companies, the internationalisation of consolidated start-ups with high potential, the promotion of innovation and the attraction of investment, all in the field of cybersecurity.
