CATALYST SHOWCASES NORTHERN IRELAND’S INVESTMENT POTENTIAL TO 40 LEADING VENTURE CAPITAL FIRMS AT INBOUND INVESTORS
Catalyst brought 40 UK and Irish venture capital firms to Belfast last week, for its annual Inbound Investors event, to meet and hear from 50 fast-growing Northern Ireland startup and scaleup companies.
Held in the iconic Titanic Belfast on Thursday 18 September, supported by headline partner British Business Bank, Catalyst’s Inbound Investors saw Northern Ireland’s most high-growth potential companies meet with and pitch to relevant investors through tailored pre-matched meetings.
With investments from Pre-Seed up to Series A available, Inbound Investors gave participating companies, such as MoveTru and Eolas Medical, from the SportTech and MedTech sectors, the opportunity to secure funding in order to grow their business. Many of the investors, such as Deepbridge Capital and DSW, are returning participants, but this year saw firms such as Blue Lake VC attend for the first time, showing the growing strength of Northern Ireland’s investment ecosystem.
The event also included a range of panel discussions showcasing Northern Ireland investment success stories, such as TeamFeePay and Re-Vana, with a focus on how to be successful in the United States market. There was also an early-stage pipeline mixer, where investors were able to get an insight into upcoming deal flow and those who will need investment in the future, to learn what investors will expect to see.
Partners for the 2025 Inbound Investors included Amplifi Solutions, Bank of Ireland, Harbinson Mulholland, Haynes Boone, Innovate UK, Quilter Cheviot and Ulster University, alongside event contribution from Belfast City Council.
Hannah Cummings, Inbound Investors Programme Manager, said: “Inbound Investors represents a cornerstone in Catalyst’s efforts to champion Northern Ireland’s most investible ventures. It brings together a committed ecosystem to spotlight the quality and commercial readiness of local companies.
“The quality of the businesses present at the event was first class, and we want to make sure these companies have the financial support they need to grow and scale, supporting the NI economy. It is a very exciting time for ambitious businesses in our region.”
Susan McKane from British Business Bank, Senior Manager Northern Ireland, said: “The Bank is proud to continue its partnership with Catalyst and Inbound Investors. Helping smaller businesses access the finance they need to grow and develop is a key focus for the Bank, and in Northern Ireland, there is a real entrepreneurial spirit with firms full of potential for operating on a global level.
“It’s vitally important these high-growth potential companies are matched with the right investor and with the right type of finance to help them grow and prosper. Inbound Investors continues to be very successful in finding these matches.”
