10 Latvian startups to watch
This week, more than 200 investors are congregating at TechChill – one of the biggest Baltic startup conferences taking place in Riga, April 26-28. The region, which includes Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania and is often referred to as a unicorn factory, has long been punching above its weight on the global stage and is home to such success stories as Wise, Vinted, Printful, and 10 other unicorns to date. As well as a sizable herd of centaurs, soonicorns, and other mythical beasts.
It comes as little surprise that the Baltics have fallen into the crosshairs of global players, including UK-based investors, who are keen to discover the next big thing, while it's still on the assembly line. We are, too – Startups Magazine is a TechChill media partner.
This year at TechChill, to get the ball rolling, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) is organising a special event for meetings between foreign investors and ten of Latvia's most promising startups. The startups shortlisted by LIAA, together with representatives of the startup ecosystem, had to meet the following criteria:
- <€1M in funding
- <15 people on the team
- The company has revenue and is in the development stage
So who are these startups that the locals believe will continue the region's impressive track record? Here's the inside scoop.

Next time – meet them in person
Though you probably won't make this year's TechChill Riga, as it's already underway, fret not – following the conference's regional success as an ecosystem developer, it has found demand in Italy, where it hosted the first TechChill Milano last September.
TechChill will be returning to Milan this year, where attendees will have the chance to meet the best and brightest startups and investors not only from Northern Europe, but Southern Europe, too.
So stay tuned!
