Richard Richie

Richard Richie is a seasoned commercial leadership professional featuring on the Dubai Eye Radio Business Breakfast Show and in Arabian Business magazine. He graduated from the University of Wales, Swansea in 2000 with a degree in Management Science. From there he trained as a Financial Adviser, then Investment Adviser, before moving into Technology and online Marketplaces in Dubai in 2009. Recruited as only the fifteenth employee at dubizzle, and then spending 10 years working for what would become the most successful online marketplace in the MENA region and part of the OLX Group portfolio, Richard gained valuable exposure to the commercial challenges companies face when building and mobilising their sales organisations across territories. After successfully designing and executing the sales transformation of the maturing dubizzle business he went on to establish Alcon Maddox, a boutique management consulting firm in 2019. In Richard’s main role at Alcon Maddox, as Director of Consulting Services, he is responsible for the Sales Transformation and Optimisation vertical in which he manages strategic partnerships and runs a series of commercially focused workshops and training programmes to support portfolio companies of VCs such as Rainmaking Innovation, Wamda Capital, Flat6Labs and Endeavor. Richard is also responsible for winning and executing consulting projects for clients with annual turnovers of up to $5bn, and managing Commercial Due Diligence projects for PE partners. A resourceful and energetic business leader, Richard’s 25+ years of commercial experience informs his keynotes on: The Importance of Focus; Motivation; The Mindset of Sales; Sales Leadership; and Conversing with Purpose. His most recent high profile speaking engagement was at London Tech Week, July 2023.
