At some point in time, all startup founders consider monetisation of their business. Personally, I believe that if there’s an opportunity to monetise from day one, it should be pursued immediately. A startup that earns revenue from the start gains a significant advantage over competitors who are still striving for profitability.

Across the UK, businesses are trying to be better corporate citizens for their people, the communities they serve, and the environment. Sustainability is high on the agenda. Many businesses are leading the way – while others are recognising pressure from employees, consumers, customers, partners and industry peers to go green.
It’s impossible to run a successful startup without help. From IT and accounting to branding and marketing, no founder can do it all – and they shouldn’t try to. It’s much better to focus on the core problem you’re solving, outsourcing as many of the wider support functions as you can for as long as you can.
Imagine a young student from a small town, bursting with potential but faced with the reality of living in a low-opportunity area.
