Kerbo Charge acquires competitor Charge Gully
Kerbo Charge has acquired one of its competitors in the EV charging space, Charge Gully.
By acquiring Charge Gully, Kerbo Charge is further investing on its commitment to make EV ownership accessible to people without driveways.
“Ultimately this is about ensuring customers have choice,” said Michael Goulden, Founder and CEO of Kerbo Charge. “Charge Gully has built a great market presence, and with the addition of their product in our offering we’ll be able to accelerate the adoption of cross-pavement charging by UK local authorities."
Kerbo Charge will continue to invest in Charge Gully as a standalone brand, giving councils and end users flexibility in the product they choose to deploy – whether it’s Kerbo Charge’s patented, pavement contouring channel or Charge Gully’s lockable aluminium design.
Both brands will continue to be British-designed and manufactured: “At Charge Gully, we are proud to have built something truly innovative underpinned by our strong engineering expertise,” said Ian Mach, Founder, Charge Gully. “We’re grateful to our clients and partners who have supported us along the way. With Kerbo Charge now taking the product forward, I’m confident it will continue to grow and help more residents without a driveway transition to electric vehicles.”
Charge Gully built a rapid market presence in a short period of time, with installations in Lancashire, Suffolk, Renfrewshire, Coventry, and more.
Moving forward, Kerbo Charge will take over Charge Gully’s existing product warranties and stock will be shipped from its central logistics hub, ensuring faster, more efficient service.
“This is just the beginning of what we believe will be a wave of consolidation across the EV charging sector,” added Goulden. “We’re pleased to be leading from the front with Charge Gully – two British brands working together to solve one of the UK’s toughest charging challenges.”
Kerbo Charge will use the acquisition to springboard UK growth – the startup is on track to be live with over 25% of all UK local authorities by the end of 2025 – making EV ownership much more attractive and affordable for millions of British residents.
