Kalogon at CES 2025
At CES 2025, Startups Magazine’s Paige West talks to Tim Balz, CEO and Founder of Kalogon.
Kalogon is a smart seating company that uses patent-pending sensor technology to enable a seat to adapt to the user’s body. In doing so, it is able to redistribute the way the pressure is carried as someone is sitting, which has been proven to increase blood flow.
Startups Magazine originally spoke to Kalogon at CES in 2023, when the company was located in the startup section, Eureka Park. In 2023, Tim discussed Kalogon’s world first smart cushion for wheelchairs, the Kalogon Cushion.
In this latest interview, Kalogon discusses where the company is now and the developments that have happened in these last couple of years, as well as its upgrade from the startup area. Not only that, but Tim talks about Kalogon’s Hustle Award win back in 2023 and how that has impacted the company: “That award meant so much for us and it was one of the first steps for us expanding into Europe..."
Starting in the wheelchair space, Kalogon has slowly but surely expanded its reach. Currently having expanded to the aviation sector, Kalogon is eyeing up any industry that seating, and particularly, ensuring comfort whilst seated, is a concern.
Customer feedback has been great, Tim mentioned: "We get Christmas cards from customers telling us how we've changed their life."
