Krete Paal, CEO of GDPR Register, stated that the AI-based solution, the first of its kind in the data protection field in Europe, has successfully completed the testing phase. "The interest and readiness of clients to try the new solution have been very high because AI helps fulfil routine obligations arising from the GDPR," said Paal.

GDPR Register's innovative AI-based solution will hit the market this fall. Initially, the startup developed automated tools for performing legitimate interest assessments and data protection impact assessments. Additionally, the AI can generate automated data protection documents and manage data protection documentation using large language models (LLM). "One company may have dozens of such documents, and their volume can reach tens of pages, requiring constant updates," explained Paal.

The CEO of GDPR Register noted that data protection requirements are becoming increasingly complex and stricter in the European Union, which increases the administrative burden for companies and public institutions, making the documentation more extensive. "This demands significant resources from companies, and the price of mistakes made out of ignorance or lack of resources can be extremely costly, ranging from large fines to reputational damage and even business shutdowns," emphasized Krete Paal.

GDPR Register’s clients include major corporations that process data of hundreds of thousands of clients, such as Salv, DPD, Confido, Inbank, Tele2, and many others.

The telecommunications company Tele2 sees AI as a valuable assistant for product managers. "Unfortunately, human wording in routine reports can sometimes be inaccurate, which creates additional work for those responsible for data protection. GDPR Register's solution adds precision and detail to the reports and offers alternatives and recommendations, making the preparation of legitimate interest assessments and data protection impact assessments more efficient," said Tele2’s data protection specialist Anna Pauliina Aavik.

Estonian technology company Reconeyez, which offers AI-based security solutions, including autonomous cameras and surveillance platforms equipped with sensors to detect and analyse intruders in real time, also participated in testing the new software. "Data protection is critically important for our products, and GDPR Register's AI-based solution makes managing data protection easier and faster, which is a big win for us," commented Kalev Tuubel.

To bring AI-based solutions to the market, GDPR Register has been selected for the AI accelerator of Tehnopol Startup Incubator. The mentor for the Estonian data protection startup is renowned AI expert Otto Mättas.
