adCAPTCHA launches with £1m funding to tackle ‘bots epidemic’
adCAPTCHA, a newly launched security verification platform, has secured £1 million in funding to combat the growing challenge of automated bots and cyber fraud.
Based in London and founded by industry veteran Alfie Scarborough, the company offers organisations the tools to detect and block bot activity using its patent-pending human verification technology. The platform’s multi-layered security approach taps into the power of constantly shifting media and behavioural analytics, generating billions of unique user pathways.
Estimates suggest bots account for half of all global web traffic, leading to significant financial losses for major brands, which are plagued by false views and fraudulent interactions. This results in wasted marketing spend as these non-human engagements erode advertising budgets.
adCAPTCHA’s solution has been specifically designed to assist marketers and branding professionals in tackling online fraud. By using the platform, brands can protect their advertising investments and reduce the impact of bot-driven false impressions. Additionally, the platform supports the human verification process in digital advertising, helping to cross-sell new products and services. adCAPTCHA’s APIs are also available for seamless integration into existing CMS systems and media libraries.
The system employs innovative methods such as swipe-to-complete tasks, puzzle-solving, and gamified challenges to distinguish human users from automated bots.
The £1 million funding round, backed by a group of angel investors and entrepreneurs, will fuel the company’s expansion into the UK, US, and European markets.
Alfie Scarborough, Founder and CEO of adCAPTCHA said: “The verification market is plagued by poorly performing products that fail to accurately distinguish between bots and humans. The status quo leaves brands open to major cyber-attacks, unlimited spam as well as decimated marketing budgets.
“Our offering will change all that – giving brands a comprehensive solution to identify and block bots, whilst empowering dynamic brand advertising to engage customers. Our mission is to usher in a new era of human verification technology and set the industry standard for the future.”
