AWS GenAI Loft comes to London to accelerate AI innovation

Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most transformational technologies of our generation, tackling some of humanity’s most challenging problems, augmenting human performance, and maximising productivity. A research study from Strand Partners and commissioned by Amazon Web Services, showed that the number of UK companies adopting AI has increased by 31% from 2022 to 2023. Thanks to the acceleration in AI adoption, digital technology could add £520 billion to the UK economy by 2030, up from £413 billion in 2022.

Startups have an important role to play in realising the UK’s AI-enabled growth. Startups have always been the lifeblood of innovation, and we are seeing these businesses transforming industries with AI. For example, Zilch, the world’s first ad-subsidised payments network has built an AI engine trained on years of lending data to its almost 4 million customers to set personalised affordability limits for each customer more accurately, and legal AI assistant provider, Robin AI, has built new generative AI capabilities into its legal assistant to automate complex legal work.

Just as AWS democratised access to cloud computing services, AWS has democratised access to building and using generative AI technology so that companies of all sizes, and across all industries, and developers of all skills sets can take part in this transformation to grow their businesses. To further support startups to drive innovation with generative AI, we announced a $230 million commitment for startups around the world to accelerate the creation of generative AI applications, as well as launching the second-annual AWS Generative AI Accelerator, with the recently announced cohort featuring six UK startups, including Odyssey and PhysicsX.

We are now doubling down on our commitment to support startup founders to innovate faster and reinvent customer experiences and applications with generative AI by bringing the AWS GenAI Loft series to White Rabbit, in London from 30th September through to 25th October 2024.

The AWS GenAI Loft London will provide a one-stop destination for in-person engagement for startups and developers to learn how to use and implement generative AI technology, get up to speed on the latest trends, and connect with a wider community of technology and business experts.

Here are some of the highlights from the programme:
