President of ACM to address critical AI themes at “AI Everything Global” Summit
ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery, has announced that its President, Yannis Ioannidis, will deliver key insights on AI at the AI Everything Global conference. The event, scheduled for February 3-6 in the United Arab Emirates, brings together more than 500 Chief AI Officers from companies like Amazon, Meta, and more to address the rapid acceleration of AI adoption worldwide.
As President of ACM, Ioannidis represents a global community of 110,000 computing professionals – many of whom are actively shaping the future of AI – from foundational research to real-world deployment across computer science and academia. His participation in AI Everything Global comes at a particularly crucial time when industries worldwide are addressing AI integration needs and responsible development frameworks
A Professor at the University of Athens, Ioannidis is a frequent speaker on technology issues at leading conferences. Among his advocacy efforts, he has championed the use of computing technology to advance the efforts towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
At AI Everything Global, Ioannidis will participate in two sessions:
- February 4 in Abu Dhabi: AI and The Talent Gap | Fireside Chat on AI and the Workforce | Can Smart Tech Drive Responsible Upskilling at Scale?
- February 5 in Dubai: Human – AI Collaboration | Panel Discussion | Future of AI Agent Ecosystems
In addition to his participation in AI Everything Global, Ioannidis will be giving a special presentation to leading academics in the UAE:
- February 6 in Abu Dhabi: The Future of Open Science | at Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI)
Earlier in his career, Ioannidis served as President and General Director of the Athena Research and Innovation Center, a research institution supervised by the Greek government. He has published over 170 articles, holds four patents, and has co-founded a start-up based on the results of his group’s research. A graduate of the National Technical University of Athens, Ioannidis earned an MSc in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University and a PhD in Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.
