Gracia AI Raises $1.2M for AI-Powered Volumetric VR Videos
Gracia AI has unveiled its AI-powered technology designed for professional creators and media companies. This innovation facilitates the creation of photorealistic volumetric videos for Spatial Computing, offering six degrees of freedom viewing.
The company has secured a $1.2 million seed investment from The Venture Reality Fund, Triptyq Capital (led by the founder of Vrvana, acquired by Apple), LVL1 Group, and Future Fund. These funds will bolster the team and support the launch of a platform that merges the viewing capabilities of YouTube with the interactive potential of Spatial Computing.
Currently compatible with all major Virtual Reality headsets, Gracia AI's technology has already been tested by over 1,000 tech enthusiasts and will soon be available on desktops, mobile devices, and the Apple Vision Pro.
Led by former Prisma employee Andrey Volodin and Georgii Vysotskii, who have previously achieved a successful exit together, the company comprises a team of 15 top developers and designers, along with a marketing advisor from Spotify. Since its debut in late 2023, the startup has tested its platform with over 1,000 tech enthusiasts and has initiated pilot projects with contemporary artists such as Elen Sheidlin and British designer Sabina Bilenko.
Gracia AI addresses the limited diversity in VR content by equipping professional creators with tools for rapid content production and efficient distribution. The startup's proprietary AI model training pipeline allows for the creation of volumetric videos rendered in native resolution ten times faster than existing solutions. This enables on-device real-time VR rendering with natural parallax effects, ensuring accurate transfers of real-world events to the digital realm. Additionally, Gracia AI offers full flexibility in camera positioning during post-production, enabling impossible 2D flythroughs and immersive repeats from processed volumetric videos. The advanced AI technology integrates seamlessly into industries such as sports, entertainment, art, and fashion, with content that can be published on Gracia AI or delivered through an SDK on a partner's platform.
