Digitalisation, sustainability, and social transformation set the agenda for South Summit Brazil in its most global edition
South Summit Brazil 2025, the leading event for the entrepreneurial ecosystem co-organized by IE University and the Government of Rio Grande do Sul, will celebrate its fourth edition from April 9 to 11 in the city of Porto Alegre. The event will feature five major thematic areas of content that will set the pace of the conversations and presentations: Sustainability, Digitalisation, Ecosystem, Social Transformation and the Edge.
Under the umbrella of Sustainability, the main challenges and solutions will be addressed around climate resilience, energy transition, smart agriculture, the NetZero model, and food innovation through FoodTech, among other topics.
In the field of Digitalisation, speakers will analyse the impact of technological transformation, the advancement of digital inclusion, and the growth of key sectors such as fintech, cybersecurity, and Industry 4.0.
On the other hand, the Ecosystem track will explore the dynamics driving entrepreneurial growth, focusing on investment and collaboration, while the Social Transformation vertical will emphasise diversity, education, health and governance as pillars of collective progress. Finally, the Edge will bring together the most disruptive proposals in biotechnology, quantum computing, industry 5.0 and phygital environments.
To talk about these and many other topics, #SouthSummitBrazil25 will feature top-level speakers such as: Brian Requarth, general partner and founder of Latitud; Konrad Dantas, founder and CEO of Kondzilla; Federico Vega, founder and CEO of Frete; Juliana Binatti, founder and CPO of Pismo; Orkut Buyukkokten, founder of Orkut, or Ed so, CTO of Lenovo, among others. Among the confirmed speakers will be a prominent presence of more than 160 international investors and 9 unicorn founders
The slogan chosen for this edition, "Beyond Resilience", proposes a renewed look at the ability to adapt. In a world marked by uncertainty and change, it is necessary to anticipate, innovate and build stronger and more collaborative ecosystems and processes. This vision is especially relevant in Porto Alegre, a city that in 2024 experienced one of the most severe flooding episodes in its recent history. In this context, South Summit Brazil 2025 is positioned as a space to rethink the future from a perspective that combines technology, sustainability, and positive impact.
South Summit Brazil 2025 will also be the stage where the winning startup of the Startup Competition will be announced, selected from 50 finalists from 11 countries and chosen from more than 2,100 applications. These include the Barcelona-based startup DIDIT, which offers secure digital identity and fraud prevention to both companies and individuals, and Madrid-based ClassInTheBox, developer of the Boxie educational software to transform video and text into interactive learning adventures.
The previous edition of South Summit Brazil brought together more than 23,500 attendees from 55 different countries, including more than 800 speakers, 3,000 startups, 900 investment funds with a portfolio of 213,000 million dollars, and 750 accredited media.
