CYL-HUB PALENCIA will be held on the 19th and 20th of May, connecting a large number of corporations and investors with startups from Palencia and promoting the culture of technological entrepreneurship.
The CYL-HUB project has been subsidised with 1,342,280 euros by the Junta of Castilla and León and channelled through the Next Generation funds of the European Union.
CYL-HUB, the international hub of innovation and technological entrepreneurship of Castilla and León, continuing with its tour of events in the region, celebrates a great event in Palencia with two days aimed at young people, students, startups, innovative SMEs, freelancers, entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, corporations, investors and public administrations with the help of the City Counci l of Palencia and the University of Valladolid-Palencia Campus and Science Park. Access and participation to all the activities is completely free and tickets can be obtained through the event's website.
CYL-HUB Palencia will feature more than sixty prestigious speakers, almost sixty startups, twenty round tables and lectures with representatives from the ecosystem of Palencia, Castilla and León and the rest of Spain, and around two hundred and fifty attendees.
CYL-HUB PALENCIA is designed firstly to promote entrepreneurial culture among young people, students, women and the unemployed, and secondly to boost and promote innovation and technological and social entrepreneurship, supporting freelancers, startups and innovative SMEs in Palencia, connecting them with a large number of investors, corporations and media nationwide. The aim is to obtain investment, create customers, grow and create jobs.
The event will be held on 19th and 20th of May at the Palencia University Campus, La Yutera and the Centro Cultural Antigua Cárcel - Lecrác (Palencia) respectively, organised by the University of Valladolid and the City Council of Palencia. The main public and private institutions of Palencia and the region such as the Provincial Council, the Government Subdelegation in Palencia, the Territorial Delegation in Palencia of the Junta of Castilla and León, the Chamber of Commerce, CEOE Palencia, Family Business CyL, ATA CyL and the Institute for Business Competitiveness , are joining this great initiative, making the event have all the support to maximize the attraction of investment and opportunities to Palencia, and projecting the image of Palencia's ecosystem at national level.

The event on 19th of May will be dedicated to the promotion of talent and entrepreneurial culture, including all kinds of activities that will take place at the University Campus of La Yutera. One of the main activities of the day will be an inspiring talk entitled I'm going to show you, in less than 15 minutes, that copywriting has such a radical importance in your business, that you may not pay any attention to me by the famous copywriter Isra Bravo, founder of Motivante, as well as the talk Charisma and empathy to communicate with others, how to be able to sell, some technique by Juanma Romero, Director and Presenter of Emprende - RTVE.
In addition, the event's agenda will include a wide range of activities such as a Hackathon organised by the great Palencia startup Roams, which aims to identify talent and generate employment. Another of the activities is a workshop by Genyus School, aimed mainly at heads of educational centres, aimed at promoting entrepreneurial culture among children, in order to promote entrepreneurship from the base and the development of social skills through games and dynamics. The event will include round tables that will address different topics such as entrepreneurial culture, the role of young female entrepreneurs, female entrepreneurs and investors, the entrepreneurial future, the responsible future, among others. The first day also includes two masterclasses, one on how to go from idea phase to startup, by Prudencio Herrero, Managing Director of Foro de Consejeros, and another on how to start a business without dying trying, by Eduardo Delgado, CEO of Roams.
The second day, aimed at professionals from the entrepreneurial ecosystem, will be held on Friday, 20th of May at the Antigua Cárcel - Lecrác Cultural Centre (Palencia). All activities will be aimed at connecting companies, startups and freelancers with investors, corporations, media and public institutions. There will be a startup fair, pitch competition, business rounds between startups and investors and round tables related to some of the transversal axes of the CYL-HUB project, such as job creation, ecological transition, social and territorial cohesion, digitalisation and gender equality.
In addition, one of the round tables will address the specialisation of the main sectors and technologies that define the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Palencia, such as Automotive and Agri-Food. Another of the sessions will address both the current and future state of the Palencia ecosystem, with speakers representing the main institutions such as the city council, provincial council, chamber of commerce, university, among others.
All participating startups, as well as the ecosystem of Palencia, will be invited to participate in Startup OLÉ, in Salamanca from 5th to 7th of September, where the entire ecosystem of Castilla and León will be invited to connect nationally and internationally with major investors, corporations, governments and media.
In terms of prizes, the winning startups of the event will be invited to participate in some of the most important European fairs of technological entrepreneurship, which will allow them to come into contact with a large number of investors and international corporations.
CYL-HUB Palencia will end with a great networking cocktail, where all attendees will be able to connect and look for possible synergies and ways of collaboration.
The CYL-HUB project provides all its participants with a digital networking tool that, once registered, allows all participants with common interests to connect. For example, connecting startups with investors or corporations with job offers and demands, as well as offering mentoring possibilities.
