AI Stylist Solves the Eternal Issue of Matching Clothes for Perfect Outfits
The eternal “nothing to wear” dilemma arises from having a wardrobe filled with up to 88% of clothes that go unworn throughout the year, according to Movingo. Style DNA, a company in image consulting tech, unveils its brand-new AI Stylist Assistant to address the issue.
The solution aims to assist individuals in discovering their distinct personal style and making the most of their existing wardrobe. By pinpointing the clothing items that enhance their confidence and personal aesthetic, Style DNA reduces the accumulation of unworn garments in wardrobes over time. This promotes responsible consumption practices and facilitates pairing items that complement their look.
The rise of fast fashion, driven by rapidly changing trends, low prices, and the convenience of online shopping, has led to a 60% annual increase in global clothing consumption. Many consumers also lack the skills to choose garments that complement their individual appearance, resulting in impulse purchases that don’t match their style or other pieces in their wardrobe. These clothes are often first in line to get discarded, significantly contributing to environmental pollution.
The AI Stylist Assistant offers personalised styling services, including appearance analysis, wardrobe management, and curated shopping guidance. Beyond styling recommendations, the assistant seamlessly integrates with a retail platform for hassle-free purchasing of the suggested items with just one click.
Just like interacting with a human stylist, Style DNA provides the same level of expertise online. Firstly, Style DNA identifies the user’s colour and style type, takes body measurements, and considers their lifestyle. It then processes the photos of existing clothes and uploads them into a virtual wardrobe. The AI Stylist Assistant provides accurate outfit recommendations for various occasions, whether for the office or a black-tie dinner, matching the user’s items into complete outfits to ensure full wardrobe utilisation.
Last week, Style DNA launched a new online chat feature with an AI stylist, allowing clients to ask for style recommendations and best outfit matches. Users can ask for advice like “Best boots to match my grey pants” or “Should I buy this T-shirt?” or get suggestions for party dresses tailored to their specific body type.
The AI Stylist Assistant also provides around-the-clock personalised shopping guidance, helping users select clothes that suit them best at any retail store.
Style DNA is able to achieve 98% accuracy in curating new looks thanks to a highly developed in-house algorithm trained on multiple proprietary datasets totalling millions, which were further refined by an experienced image consultant.
Elena Volkova, CEO and co-founder of Style DNA believes that one of the key advantages of AI-powered styling is its impartiality and accessibility. "I see the future of personal styling tightly connected with AI. It is free from bias, offers data-based insights, and is highly scalable, making personalised styling accessible to everyone at any time”, she explains.
