AgrofoodBIC and Eatable Adventures: together to support the growth of Agrifoodtech startups

AgrofoodBIC S.r.l. (Business Innovation Centre), a multi-company open innovation hub active nationally and internationally since 2019, partners with Eatable Adventures to identify and accelerate global startups that address the evolving needs of the Italian foodtech sector. This collaboration aims to foster innovation and build bridges between established companies and emerging ventures.

Supported by Italian industry giants like Granarolo, Camst, Conserve Italia, IMA, and Eurovo, AgrofoodBIC helps startups turn ideas into viable business projects. The hub offers emerging projects a comprehensive range of services, including acceleration programs, R&D support, access to a network of business connections, financing solutions, pilot facility access, and mentoring.

Eatable Adventures will leverage its extensive expertise and global network to scout high-potential startups and manage investment opportunities within AgrofoodBIC’s programmes. It will also provide these startups with expert guidance, maximising their chances of success.

Each year, 30 promising International startups in food, beverage, and agro-industrial sectors will be presented, focusing on six key areas:

  • Shaping the food journey: Innovative solutions to extend product shelf life, reduce or reuse packaging materials, and improve traceability through technologies like smart labels and other cutting-edge systems
  • Advancing Agriculture: Advanced proposals for enhancing agricultural practices and yields using technologies such as IoT, precision irrigation, and agricultural robotics
  • Tasting spoons of Innovation: Development and experimentation with new ingredients to offer healthier dietary options, reduce environmental impact, and adapt to rising raw material costs and evolving consumer habits, while adhering to EU regulations
  • Ensuring Animal Wellbeing: Innovative technologies to improve animal living conditions and reduce stress through precise health monitoring. Additionally, solutions for sustainable aquaculture and efficient feed systems to boost productivity and sustainability
  • Healthy Ageing: Pioneering projects targeting diet-related health issues, offering alternatives to sugar and salt, glucose control solutions, and natural supplements, with a special focus on women’s health and the well-being of Generation X
  • The Future is Circular: Cleantech solutions that minimise environmental impact, improve resource efficiency, and create new life cycles for products by transforming waste into resources and promoting efficient water management

The primary goal of this partnership is to accelerate innovation, support Italy’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, and create impactful synergies within the agrifood sector.
