Vanessa Stock

Vanessa Stock is the Chief People Officer and a co founder at Pitch. Before joining Pitch, Vanessa worked at Wunderlist, where her focus was on hiring the core team. Vanessa has a master’s in Business Psychology and has participated in numerous leadership and management programs, including the Neuroleadership Institute in New York. Previously, she has served as a HR consultant and HR director at Clue and other Berlin-based startups, and worked in PR and Communications at creative agencies in Hamburg and London.

Levelling the playing field for venture capital investment

Despite a record $330bn fundraising total, female founders in the US secured a mere 2.3% of venture capital in 2021 according to Bloomberg, the second consecutive year of decline and the smallest share since 2016. Amazingly, that figure is more than double the proportion of venture capital going to female-founded businesses in Europe which sits at just 1.1%.
