Melissa Gauge

With a background in financial services and consultancy, Founder Melissa Gauge was inspired to launch sparemytime after realising that juggling a high-flying City role with parenthood was extremely difficult. After obtaining a BA Hons degree in Archaeology from the University of Bristol, Melissa began her working life at PwC, followed by a 15-year-long career in finance and consulting where Melissa founded, developed and led teams to support investor engagement opportunities. She has previously held roles for the London-based investment bank Numis and the equity crowdfunding platform Crowdcube. She also co-founded the investor relations consultancy RMS Partners. Designed to offer a wide range of solutions for businesses and professionals, sparemytime was created following Melissa’s initial experiences founding an online home maintenance platform. Melissa was surprised by how many founders suffered from similar issues: how to find flexibility, affordable support and skills for their businesses. Simultaneously, when Melissa’s children went to school she was shocked by how many talented parents are unable to work due to the constraints of childcare. This developed a passion to build careers for those excluded from a 9-5 culture, whilst providing reliable, high-calibre support for businesses and professionals.   A dyslexic business founder, Melissa is passionate about providing helpful solutions for those looking to balance work with family life. At sparemytime she heads business operations, market development and the shaping of the company’s vision, aiming to establish sparemytime as the UK’s leading outsourcing consultancy provider.
