Kathryn is Managing Director of Mother Design London. With over 15 years’ experience in building brands, she has worked with a diverse range of sectors across an equally broad range of consumers, and has been fortunate enough to build brands, campaigns and fans for the likes of Tesco, Dr Martens, Facebook, BBC, adidas, M&S, Facebook, adidas, Mr Porter, Virgin Media and all-time favourite (for her love of chocolate)...Terrys Chocolate Orange. Previously Kathryn has worked at iris, ITV, DDB/Adam&Eve and most recently ODD, where she established and grew the strategy function as well as setting up their New York office.

How challenger brands can use design to build longevity

It’s a challenge, being a challenger brand today. The relative ease and speed with which you can bring a company or product to market means the volume of brands in any given space is huge, so conveying genuine differentiation is hard. And staying the course, building a challenger that lasts, is even harder.
