The funding has been raised during a period of high growth for the business. In the past month alone, the business has seen a 200% year on year increase in enquires, owing to the lack of high street legal divorce services available during lockdown and a desire amongst Brits to untie the knot amicably.

Launched in 2015, amicable removes lawyers from the divorce process and democratises the experience, helping couples navigate the emotional journey of parting ways. It is a fully online service, which uses advanced technology and automation to provide a more efficient and cost-effective solution.

The funding generated through this period will be used to invest in the growth of the amicable team and on expanding the technology to help more couples throughout all the stages of divorce and separation.

The funding will help to make our technology smarter and faster while also maintaining the excellent service we pride ourselves on.

This announcement comes just one week after ‘no fault divorce’, the largest reform to divorce law in more than fifty years, gained Royal Assent. The amendments introduced will allow couples to have kinder, more amicable divorces, reducing conflict during the divorce process. A joint petition to the court citing irretrievable breakdown of the marriage will allow former couples to start divorce proceedings amicably, greatly reducing stress and preserving mental wellbeing as much as possible.
