Former BBC producer Edwin Buckley has launched a brand-new PR startup, based in the heart of Manchester.
People of Prominence combines talent management of celebrities and influencers, with PR and media services for entrepreneurs, experts and founder-led brands.
The North West startup has already signed 14 stars from the worlds of TV, podcasting and social media. They include The Traitors UK stars Miles Asteri, Theo Mayne and Ash Bibi, The Great British Bake Off contestants Andy Ryan and John Mincher, and former Big Brother housemate Dean Quinton.
ITV’s M&S: Dress the Nation winner David Olaniyi, I Kissed a Boy contestant Jake Devline-Reed, Married at First Sight UK star Mark Kiley, and writer and broadcaster Phoebe Smith have also signed with People of Prominence. Joining them are viral TikToker Ryan Mossman, Hunted star Nichola Tidd, My Mum, Your Dad contestant Natalie Russell, and fitness influencer Zoë Lou Purpuri.
Alongside these famous faces, People of Prominence provides PR, media, content, and personal branding services for business owners, senior professionals, campaigners and purpose-driven organisations. The agency has already been working with Joshua Weston, Co-Founder of Yorkshire-based Fourth Wall Building Consultancy, Claire Quigley Ward, Founder of All Aboard ADHD, and Anne Davies, a prominent fire safety campaigner.
Stockport-based Edwin Buckley, 34, launches People of Prominence after holding a series of senior media and communications roles with organisations including the BBC, Prostate Cancer UK, Natural England, and Causeway.
His career began as a TV producer, first entering the television industry at just 16-years-old. He went on to produce some of the UK’s most popular documentaries, entertainment programmes and reality shows for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and MTV, before he transitioned into PR, communications and talent management.
Edwin Buckley said: “I am thrilled to be launching People of Prominence, and it’s a real honour to already be working with such a range of inspiring, interesting and influential individuals. Whether it’s celebrities and influencers, entrepreneurs and experts, or founder-led brands, the PoP focus is on elevating voices, empowering individuals, telling incredible stories, and delivering truly purposeful and ethical PR, media and content services. I’m really looking forward to working with more people who have powerful stories to tell.”
