Foodles provides businesses and their employees fresh food
Foodles, the French scale-up that provides fresh, chef-prepared, affordable food for employees at any time of the day through its connected fridges, has entered the UK market to change the way that people eat at work.
Foodles currently provides 40,000 meals per week to an impressive French customer base including Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, ODDO BHF, Ubisoft and Veepee and has served more than one million meals to date, with over 300 fridges installed at sites across France – all of which are profitable.
Suitable for medium - to large-sized companies looking for an alternative to outdated canteens or ‘grab and go’ solutions, Foodles’ connected smart fridges can be easily installed and maintained for a monthly fee. Sustainability sits at the heart of Foodles’ proposition with its proprietary technology platform intelligently tracking usage in real time and analysing consumer preferences so that fridges can be restocked accordingly - a significant benefit when both hybrid and shift or flexible working is ever present and growing.
Compared to traditional canteens, Foodles’ connected fridges can reduce food waste by at least 10%, while its use of reusable containers ensures zero waste packaging.
Some of the key sectors that Foodles is targeting include the hospitality, corporate and real-estate industries to plug a gap and make high-quality, fresh, affordable food available to employees around the clock. Equally, Foodles aims to help employers create a sociable working environment to enhance the connection of time spent in the office and break the culture of eating at desks.
Renaud Barnoin, General Manager UK, Foodles, commented: “Foodles is all about offering people access to better quality and more sustainable meal options while at work. As we all adapt to new hybrid working environments, businesses need to offer employees meaningful incentives to return to offices. With over half of UK workers reported to never take their full lunch break and the average worker allocating just 27 minutes for lunch, a change in mindset and behaviour is needed.
"By providing fresh, tasty and affordable meal options at any time of the day, businesses can encourage a communal atmosphere around meal and break times, contributing to a more cohesive and friendly company culture – something that is high on the priority list for every business leader today.”
Foodles has more than 310 smart fridges in situ at more than 250 sites across France. The company’s UK launch marks Foodles’ first venture outside of France with a wider European expansion to follow.
