Expo Agritech 2024 is looking for innovative tech startups for the agricultural field

The Feria del Campo 4.0 – Expo Agritech 2024 will debut in Malaga, Spain, from 26th to 28th November, introducing the inaugural AgriTech Startup Forum, a competition for entrepreneurs.

This event aspires to be the premier national platform showcasing innovative startups revolutionising the agri-food industry through advanced processes, models, and techniques.

The AgriTech Startup Forum aims to become the central hub for this burgeoning sector. It has opened its call for technological proposals from emerging talents transforming agriculture. Startups are invited to present their cutting-edge solutions in areas such as sensing, IoT, remote sensing, biofertilizers, biosecurity, crop mapping, automation, connectivity, AI and data, drones, smart irrigation, biotechnology, supply chain, weather monitoring, and disease detection.

From the applications received, 200 companies will be selected to showcase their projects to investors, international corporate ventures, and potential partners at Expo Agritech 2024. These selected startups will have the chance to present their most innovative agricultural technologies. The winner and finalists of the AgriTech Startup Forum will gain access to various prizes and acceleration, mentoring, or training programmes designed to help them scale their business and implement their solutions in the industry. Interested companies can apply until 15th October.

Alberto Planas, director of Expo Agritech 2024, stresses that “given the digitisation of agricultural land and farms that we are seeing, it is crucial to value the projects, services or products that start from smaller companies and that focus their activity on innovation. In this context, AgriTech Startup Forum was created to promote startups as powerful actors that promote disruption, in addition to contributing to their positioning as leaders in the revolution of the 4.0 field.”
