Workspace of the Issue: Oneder
Oneder provides beautifully designed spaces for a fast-growing community of businesses, entrepreneurs, and creatives. In a post-COVID world, the workspace is about choice and connectivity. Anna Wood spoke to Oneder to learn more about its story, vision, and facilities. We want to ensure that people can utilise our spaces, however they work. We offer maximum flexibility and a range of spaces – you can book an office or a meeting room for the day, have an office part time on a Tuesday and Thursday, or your own customised and private workspace.
At the same time, we provide opportunities for connection and collaboration for our members through intentional design, a huge variety of events, and technology.

The vision and purpose of Oneder
Our vision is to provide beautiful workspaces for our fast growing community to seamlessly work, connect, and thrive. With a community of 2,500 members and growing, with four existing workspaces and three more being added over the next nine months, we are delivering on that vision.
We want to offer flexibility in time, space, and place – work how you want, where you want, and when you want.
Oneder’s backstory
Oneder celebrated its two year anniversary in October, we are a relatively new upstart in the commercial real estate world.
Our two co-founders have a long track record in commercial real estate, and they’d both seen first-hand how a thoughtful and well-run space can have a positive impact on office consumers.
Oneder was an opportunity to provide a beautiful, flexible, and connected environment for everyone.
Why do startups use Oneder’s workspaces?
One of the key reasons they are here is so they can meet other founders and businesses.
We have hundreds of startups, entrepreneurs, and scaleup businesses, and we provide moments through events, design, and curation for those people to meet informally.
It is very powerful to meet a founder going through the same challenges as you, a potential client, or a future employee while you’re in the queue for a coffee or getting a croissant from our community breakfast area.
Because we offer so many products – from booking the space for a day to a 500 person private office, founders know they can grow with us with ease.
This flexibility allows them to be agile and focus on their business, knowing they can grow with us over the short, medium, and long term.
We consistently get feedback that entrepreneurs, scaleups, and growth companies love the atmosphere, energy, and collaborative nature of our spaces.
People genuinely connect and work together. It is incredible how many referrals we get from existing members, and it is a testament to the work our teams do in the buildings.
At the same time, we’re great at the boring stuff. The Wi-Fi is fast, the coffee is delicious, and there is a variety of spaces to work in.
What facilities does Oneder offer?
Every building is intentionally different. We don’t build cookie cutter spaces – what a member will want in London Fields could be different to someone in Kings Cross and each building is unique and deserves to have its personality and best bits accentuated.
Every building will have private and customisable offices, co-working, meeting rooms, and shared spaces.
We try and provide a variety of spaces across our buildings which means we have gyms, podcast studios, event spaces, roof terraces, screening rooms, and photography studios across our portfolio.
The offices, and plans to expand
We currently have four buildings (about 160,000 square feet open) and want to aggressively grow our footprint so we can best serve our members by providing a choice of where they can work.
Over the next nine months, we’re opening in West London, Kings Cross, and Borough Market.

What makes Oneder stand out in the market?
Our community teams that run our buildings are absolutely integral – our members love them (just read our Google reviews), and they ensure that our members feel that human connection, everything is taken care of, and everybody is seen and treated as an individual.
Is location important when it comes to workspaces?
The old adage of location, location, location stands true.
However, we believe that creating spaces people want to come to, not just have to come to, is vital.
We want to create destinations that are vibrant, beautiful, and flexible.

What is the best part of running a workspace?
The three best parts of running a workspace are:
• Surprising members – we are always mixing it up: our run club is hosted by Hardest Geezer, we did a pop up on a roof terrace with SoulCycle in August, and we have a trolley with delights going round our buildings (normally with lots of sugar on)
• Seeing our members succeed: watching a member raise a round, need to move to a bigger office, or win an award is so satisfying. We see them here at all hours, struggling and consuming huge amounts of caffeine. Seeing their success is so rewarding, and we think we play a tiny part in helping them on their journey
• Little moments of connection and joy: seeing people meet and speak in the queue for the barista or grabbing a beer at a member’s party is a joy. We know our members so well, so we love it when they get to know each other and feel that human connection
Oneder-ing about the future
Oneder is continuing to design and build beautiful workspaces for its members.
Looking ahead to the launches of its Kings Cross, West London, and Borough Market offices, the company will continue to bring lots of new people and businesses into its spaces to strengthen the Oneder community.
