"The world's most valuable skill": first free AI prompt university
In what founders are calling a race against the largest economic divide humanity has ever seen, Prompt University opens its doors as the world's first completely free, open-source institution dedicated to teaching prompt engineering and AI communication skills.
The initiative, launched by Oliver Yonchev, founder of private investment office Cocreatd, and Sukhveer Sanghera, an aerospace engineer whose previous ventures have collectively generated over $2 billion in market cap and who built launch protocols for NASA, comes amid warnings that AI adoption is accelerating far beyond previous technological revolutions.
"With the internet, mobile, and crypto, a handful of people understood the shift early. They won. Everyone else played catch-up," said Sukhveer. "But AI is moving 100x faster. The next several years will either create the widest wealth gap in human history or become our greatest equaliser. There is no middle ground."
The stark assessment reflects growing concerns that whilst AI promises unprecedented productivity gains, those benefits may accrue only to a technical elite – unless prompt engineering skills become universally accessible.
"Prompts are the world's most valuable skill and most valuable asset class that the world hasn't realised yet," Yonchev stated. "It's basically human ingenuity."
Unlike traditional educational platforms, Prompt University operates as a crowdsourced initiative bringing together insights from technology, academia, and industry. The institution is designed to teach what founders believe will be "the skill that defines the next decade"– all without fees, commercial bias, or paywalls. The platform offers a comprehensive ecosystem including structured learning resources, research facilities for improving AI outcomes, community events, and access to industry leaders.
"The current benefactors don't have some hidden magic," Sukhveer explained. "They just have a head start on the technical frameworks that allow you to get the most from the tech. We're eliminating that advantage."
The timing is critical. Whilst previous technology waves took years or decades to reshape economies, large language models have achieved mass adoption in months. Employers increasingly view prompt engineering as essential, yet formal training remains scarce and prohibitively expensive for most workers.
Prompt University's curriculum focuses on five core objectives:
- Eliminating overwhelm around rapid technological change
- Teaching the structural frameworks behind effective prompting
- Providing undeniable career and business leverage
- Hosting online and in-person community events
- Building a global community committed to continuous improvement
The founders are actively seeking partnerships with universities, government bodies, and training organisations to expand reach and ensure the initiative serves those most at risk of being left behind by the AI revolution.
"For the first time in history, computers speak our language," said Yonchev. "That means people who can communicate well suddenly have access to leverage that was unimaginable previously. We're making sure everyone gets that access."
The open-source nature of Prompt University means the community itself will contribute to course development, ensuring content remains objective, current, and free from commercial influence.
