Vinted Ventures to accelerate next generation of re-commerce startups
Vinted Group, the parent company behind Europe’s well-known C2C second-hand marketplace, Vinted, has opened a new chapter in its growth story with the launch of Vinted Ventures. This is a dedicated investment arm backing the next generation of startups to accelerate re-commerce and reshape consumer behaviours in favour of second-hand.
With a focus on businesses across the re-commerce value chain, Vinted Ventures’ objective is to accelerate a shift in how consumers buy and value second-hand items. Its mission: to support the next wave of founders pushing forward more circular, accessible, and sustainable models of consumption.
Vinted Ventures will focus on Series A-C stage companies with bold visions and data-driven decision making. It will offer funding from €500,000 to €10 million, with a selective portfolio approach. In addition to capital, portfolio companies will gain access to an expert advisory network from across the company, and offering tailored guidance to help them navigate growth and complexity.
The move signals Vinted’s ambition not only to extend its influence beyond its marketplace, but also to help shape the wider ecosystem for re-commerce innovation.
Milda Jasaitė, Senior Director of Corporate Development at Vinted, said: “Through Vinted Ventures, we’re supporting ambitious founders whose products and services are solving real problems, and who are ready to define the next frontier of how people buy, sell, and value the things they own. We look forward to working closely with the future generation of innovators to change consumption habits and drive long-term success.”
Thomas Plantenga, CEO of Vinted, said: "Vinted is proof that it’s possible to successfully scale a tech business that’s both impactful and financially solid. The re-commerce space has enormous potential, hence we are excited to invest and grow startups that will ultimately benefit the wider market."
