Traveltech startup boosts connectivity with launch of new app for hoteliers
Thanks to the new advancement, hoteliers will be able to manage multiple properties all in one place. Built by Bidroom’s in-house team of technical experts, the new web application offers a simpler solution for managing bookings and room rates, and an intuitive content management platform designed to easily update hotel information, images and offers.
The improved system is expected to boost the Bidroom experience for both hotel members and travellers as hotels will be able to manage their availability with ease, at any time, providing customers with a more robust service. It will also ensure consistency of pricing, immediate booking confirmation and instil trust.
The new advancement continues to secure Bidroom’s position as the most advanced subscription-based travel company in terms of connectivity. Unlike other OTAs, Bidroom allows its hotel members to access all essential guest data via the extranet, meaning that hotels can contact their customers directly without using an intermediary.
The autonomy of managing its own accommodation portfolio, which recently expanded to include IHG hotel group and Wyndham, has been key to Bidroom’s strategy since its launch in 2016. The company capitalise on its own infrastructure without the use of middlemen or wholesalers, amplifying the company’s focus on providing technological advancements for hoteliers, while offering the best value for travellers.
Bidroom’s CEO, Michael Ros, said the new extranet will be a major player in simplifying how hotels manage their rooms, particularly in the post-COVID world: “Connectivity is a key part of our business, and as one of the industry’s leaders, we firmly believe that it will also play a vital role in the future of the sector. Having more than half of our workforce dedicated to designing new technological solutions for hoteliers, we pride ourselves on having a real impact on the industry, especially in these challenging times”.
The newly launched app will see further updates in the coming months, including providing hoteliers with more detailed income information, solutions for invalid credit card payments, and a live support feature.
Bidroom’s modern connectivity infrastructure is connected directly to major channel managers, including DerbySoft and Dhisco, and is now open to Property Management Systems (PMS) integration, providing hoteliers with an easier way to see and manage hotel bookings. Earlier this year, the platform also developed a modern distribution API to allow hotels to connect immediately at no extra cost.
The innovative approach and the company’s increasing focus on improving its technology has helped Bidroom strengthen its relationships both with consumers, partners, and hoteliers. Bidroom’s portfolio now has more than 160,000 properties worldwide, alongside 80 global brands offering travel extras to its members.
