Sir Clive Woodward on a mission to fight tech startup failure rates
The sporting legend and seasoned business advisor, Sir Clive Woodward, will teach a new live and interactive course on team growth and development, to help combat the 95% failure rate for tech startup businesses in the UK. He will be working with an up-and-coming online-learning platform, which aims to flip this staggering stat by addressing the critical knowledge crisis affecting marketing and sales professionals in tech companies worldwide.
Starting in September, England Rugby World Cup winning coach and 2012 Team GB Director of Sport, Sir Clive Woodward, will teach his new course ‘DNA of a Champion’ as an educational coach for Sales Impact Academy-a leading subscription-based live learning platform for sales and marketing professionals within tech startup and scale-up businesses.
Sir Clive is synonymous with two of the UK’s most historic sporting achievements and has developed a course that goes into real depth on how he became such a formidable leader and supercharged his performance. These skills - whether applied to sports, marketing or sales - have proven effective in achieving maximum impact in any field.
The ‘DNA of a Champion’ course will make up part of the 500+ classes a year available at Sales Impact Academy and goes live to members on 8th Tuesday September 2020 - businesses can access this course by subscribing to the Sales Impact Academy platform.
The classes will be a deep dive into the key characteristics of high performing teams and individuals, underpinned by tools and techniques to put these into practice. Course topics will touch on why talent alone is not enough, the importance of being a ‘sponge’, how to build that winning mindset and culture, and the key to tackling change. The full syllabus is available for curious business professionals who are ready to break the mould and try something new to upskill. Especially in this time of crisis, this course will help teams in the tech community realise their full potential and maximise their output.
“We all have talent, we all have raw skill. That’s not to say we can all be Olympic champions - but we can all achieve our goals if we know where to start from and where to aim for,” said Sir Clive.
Sales Impact Academy has been supporting the industry through the COVID crisis by opening their live learning platform for free to any company or individual from April to May and extending access for anyone unemployed through July. As the world begins to grind back to some form of normality, the team at Sales Impact Academy know this new course will provide much needed guidance and structure to teams, whether they are on the frontlines or in leadership positions, who must navigate the challenges to come.
Sir Clive is currently the Founder and Chairman of Hive Learning – an app that has digitised his coaching methods and is designed to help people learn better together in business and sport. He is also the Director of Sport for the APEX2100 International Ski Academy which aims to become the World’s Leading High-Performance Academy for young, aspiring athletes wanting to achieve their goals in Alpine Skiing. Sales Impact Academy is supporting Sir Clive in his journey as an educator.
Paul Fifield, CEO and Co-Founder of Sales Impact Academy said: “We are very excited to have one on the best sporting minds in the country share his invaluable advice for being a leader under pressure. Learning from Sir Clive and putting his approaches to team building, performance and leadership into practice will help any company to survive and thrive.”
