Rosberg Ventures to launch new $100M fund

Rosberg Ventures, the venture capital firm of Formula 1 champion Nico Rosberg, is reportedly launching a new $100 million venture fund-of-funds, PitchBook reports.

Back in April 2024, Rosberg Ventures launched a $75 million VC fund-of-funds, to add to Nico’s angel investing interests.

Announcing this fund on LinkedIn, Nico explained the investment model: “Our fund commits mainly to leading global VC funds and pools capital from Ultra-High-Net-Worth German and European families with significant local corporate interests, enhancing our ability to capture returns from global VC value creation. Importantly, we then selectively build bridges between startups and these corporates, creating win-win scenarios: customers and growth for startups and accelerate transformation for local corporates.”

Rosberg Ventures operates via its VC fund-of-funds that commits to investing in top-tier VC funds, and Nico’s strategic angel investments in seed-stage startups.

In an interview with Startups Magazine, Nico explained what led him to start Rosberg Ventures: “Rosberg Ventures was born from a desire to solve a specific problem for our investors. They often want exposure to the most innovative startups globally but may lack direct access to the top-tier VC firms and their funds in markets like the US. Our Fund of Funds strategy bridges that gap, connecting them with the best venture firms globally …

“In Formula 1, I lived and breathed innovation – pushing boundaries and finding marginal gains to achieve the ultimate goal of winning races and championships. When I retired, I wanted to take that same mindset into business. Venture capital became my new passion because it’s dynamic, fast-paced, and focused on building the future. I wanted to work alongside entrepreneurs who are driving groundbreaking innovation and solving big challenges, and this transition has allowed me to do just that.”
