Venture Capital firm, QVentures announces key management hires and appoints Andrea Acerbi as Partner. New senior hires to the QVentures team are Ranjeet Sandu, joining as Chief Operating Officer and Nick Hill, joining as Principal to expand QVentures’ footprint of working with Family Offices.
The much-deserved appointment of Andrea as a Partner comes as no surprise, as since joining the firm in 2019, Andrea has been instrumental in the success of QVentures. Andrea has redefined and led the Family Office Coverage and Distribution teams in raising capital for companies raising Seed to Series C. This year, QVentures has participated in 24 rounds with companies raising over £330m.
Ranjeet, joining as Chief Operating Officer, has over twelve years of experience in the financial services industry having held senior positions at a boutique Private Equity firm and Deloitte's Corporate Finance department. His focus will be on providing the infrastructure to scale the business.
Nick, a former Marines officer turned CitiBank Private Banker, brings a wealth of experience in helping clients manage and preserve generational wealth. His clients are a mix of Family Offices and UHNWIs with an average net worth of £250m and who are allocating up to 20% of their investable assets into Venture focused investment portfolios. At QVentures, Nick will continue to help his clients access top-quality technology deals.
The team expansion comes after a recent £1.8m growth round announcement which an Oman-based Family Office led with additional capital from a mix of global Family Offices from Europe, North America, and the Middle East. The funds raised are for expanding the direct investment offering and growing their fund management arm and making these key hires.
The QVentures team is led by Managing Partner, Robert Walsh, who prior to joining QVentures, held management positions at Credit Suisse, DrKW and UniCredit throughout his 30-year investment banking career.
Alongside Robert, the QVentures team of 14 has over 175 years of experience supporting investors and founders. With deep knowledge and understanding of the UK venture ecosystem, the QVentures portfolio will grow to over 90 companies in 2022.
QVentures has a Fund Management arm. The award-nominated Pre-Seed Fund focuses on investing in technology companies in the UK and is dedicated to finding and supporting the next generation of best-in-breed entrepreneurs.
