MIDƐM+ reveals startup battles finalists from 17 countries

MIDƐM+ makes an anticipated return to Cannes, France from 24—27 January 2024 and ahead of the main event the final details of the MIDƐM+ Startup Battles can be revealed.

In the lead up to MIDƐM+, any startup founded in or after 2020, with less than 1 million euros in previous equity funding, was invited to enter MIDƐM+ Startup Battles. It is a competition that attracts leading innovations in Web3, Culture, Experience, AI, and Impact and sees 50 finalists chosen and given one startup registration pass, visibility, and pitching time during MIDƐM+ 24.

In all, there were close to 200 applications, 100 of which were evaluated by MIDƐM+'s internal selection committee and 10 have been confirmed in each of the five categories. Members of the assessment jury include Venture Capital funds Ventech and Best Nights VC with hundreds of millions of euros under management.

Amongst those selected, new live performance actors have been fully integrated at MID3M+ such as LOV+R, a female-founded company that builds pods to offer clean, safe, and secured spaces for rest, mediation and intimacy at festivals, Mood: Music of our desire, which puts the power of navigating the nightlife scene right in the palm of your hand, Oratrex, who turn tickets into traceable, unforgeable and unique digital assets, Visualax, who offer generative AI visualisations for your music in AR, Tickets for Good who offer free and discounted tickets for the NHS, charity sector workers, and cost of living payment recipients, Podopolo which revolutionises podcast discovery with AI, and Pentopix, which automatically converts script into animated 3D storyboards, and many more.

Alongside these are many more innovative startups that offer everything from wellness apps to SEO for music streaming, podcast discovery to maximising music streaming incomes, fantasy label games to apps for superfans, smart rights, and community platforms.

The finalists come from 17 countries including 10% from the US and 10% from the UK, 5% from Germany and 5% from France. The companies range in size from one to 20 employees and are on average under 1.5 years old with an average funding total of under €300k and some are pitching publicly for the first time as they seek to raise funds.

This mix of startups embodies the future of the music, nightlife, and culture and is sure to platform some truly game changing new companies.
