LIQID opens the door to Silicon Valley
European digital asset manager focused on the affluent market, LIQID has added venture capital to its growing alternative asset offer, which already includes private equity and private equity real estate.
Starting at $250,000, the Berlin-based company now provides experienced private investors with unique access to carefully selected top-tier US venture funds. Much like in private equity, a key feature of these funds is the fact that they have historically not only insisted on minimum commitments in the several million US dollar range, but also only accepted commitments from their existing investor base.
LIQID Venture is focused on funds active in the US technology sector, which the company believes continues to have substantial upside. By investing its investors’ commitments in up to eight target funds, the offer will provide investors with indirect stakes in more than 100 portfolio companies, thereby ensuring strong diversification.
"Venture capital is a highly attractive asset class. By subscribing to leading US funds, investors in LIQID Venture get an opportunity for promising returns as well as supporting the next generation of revolutionary startups," commented Christian Schneider-Sickert, Founder and CEO of LIQID.
"Being able to offer private investors access to this opportunity is an important step in our evolution towards a fully-fledged digital private banking offer. The success of our discretionary wealth management and private equity offers has already shown that we can attract and service demanding affluent investors through digital channels. We now hope to do the same in venture capital.”
For LIQID Venture, the company is cooperating with the innovative Hamburg-based multi family office, Lennertz & Co, which has longstanding ties to the US venture capital community and has been investing in the asset class for close to 20 years. Previous funds selected by Lennertz &. Co. have invested in future market leaders such as Beyond Meat, Facebook, FitBit, Netflix, Square, Tesla and Twitter.
"We are pleased to offer LIQID‘s clients access to some of the world’s best venture capital funds," said Philipp Lennertz, Owner of Hamburg-based Family Office Lennertz & Co.
"This is the first time that we are opening our unique network, which has so far only been accessible to our clients, to a third party. While we will continue to focus exclusively on highly affluent families and institutional investors, our cooperation will for the first time offer an exciting asset class to affluent clients.“
