At Startups Magazine, we are all about championing and encouraging more female founders and entrepreneurs within the industry. Women in the tech industry are often overlooked and don’t get the recognition they deserve, so alongside our annual women in tech issue, we also have this award category to celebrate women in the field.

This award is to celebrate a particular woman in the industry who has excelled and really shone through this year. This woman can be in any position within a business, or be a freelancer.

Who is eligible for the award?

A woman who is working for, or with startups, who has been an inspiration to others. This could be a female founder, or any female within a team, no matter the position she holds.

This category is open to anyone who identifies as female.

Tell us why you should win

This isn’t the time to be humble about your achievements, and there is no room to let imposter syndrome rear its head, you need to shout about yourself and tell us why YOU should win this award.

When entering, outline why you are entering this award, and convince the judges that your entry should be considered. How have you innovated and differentiated yourself from the competition? What impact have you made in the industry?

Evidence of achievement

It’s great to shout about your achievements, but the judges do need to see evidence of your claims. Please tell the judges what you have achieved and how you have done this. What makes you an inspiration in the industry? Please provide evidence of growth through numbers and statistics.

Another great point to make is what inspiration you have given to the business or to others? Describe how this has been done, either within the business, to customers, or those in the startup ecosystem.

Testimonials to back up your claims should be obtained from clients, partners, and industry figures, rather than employees of the organisation.

Supporting materials are highly recommended to help the judges make their decision. However, do be mindful of what supporting materials are used, as it’s limited to up to three images and one video link per entry.
