ExodusHOME partners with INTELLITHING to power sustainable energy solution
ExodusHOME, a Leeds-based tech startup specialising in peer-to-peer energy trading, has announced its partnership with INTELLITHING, a provider of customisable AI platforms.
Both companies participated in Exchange, an award-winning scale-up support programme, where they were introduced despite their locations on opposite sides of the Pennines. This programme encourages collaboration and knowledge exchange nationwide.
Through this partnership, ExodusHOME plans to enhance its mobile app by integrating AI capabilities, offering users personalised advice on reducing energy consumption. Users can then trade any surplus energy with other households, incentivising smarter energy choices.
INTELLITHING’s technology enables businesses to create custom applications using a no-code, drag-and-drop, modular system. This approach allows the stacking of large language models and components to address unique business challenges.
Liam Wright, CEO and Co-Founder at ExodusHOME, commented: “Often to integrate a personalised tech system it takes months or even years to develop. This is further exacerbated by the shortage of software engineers available to develop new systems. Partnering with Saeid and the team at INTELLITHING has rapidly accelerated our development. Now with AI-generated insights tailored to each user’s energy habits, we can influence behaviour change and drive the adoption of our renewable energy marketplace. We can introduce content and services that are specific to the individual user and their energy consumption habits.
“Now we have the AI technology we are in the process of planning a pilot with a local university to create a fully off-grid building that mimics affordable housing. The project will showcase to local authorities how AI and financial incentives can make homes energy independent. Over time we hope this model will develop to help people be mindful about what energy they use and how. There is a chance that we will see long lasting behaviour change at scale.”
Saeid Jamali, CEO at INTELLITHING, commented: “We were initially introduced by a mentor on Exchange as they understood the value INTELLITHING’s customisable system could bring to ExodusHOME’s application. We immediately saw an opportunity to combine our technologies to make a meaningful impact on the future of energy consumption. As an advisor and alumni of Exchange, I have had the privilege of supporting various early-stage tech businesses that are true innovators in their field. Partnering with ExodusHOME was a no-brainer if it meant it could bring some meaningful change to how we consume energy.”
Rich Jones, Head of Exchange commented: “As well as supporting them on their own journeys, we have been able to introduce like-minded leaders that are developing complementary technologies to advance both businesses. It is a testament to the communities and networks that we have developed in Manchester and Leeds that these businesses have overcome geographical limits to collaborate.”
Exchange is committed to supporting pioneering founders in the digital and tech sectors. The programme offers free flexible workspaces at Department, exclusive workshops, high-profile speaker events, and access to a community of like-minded startup founders, meetings with the programme’s Entrepreneur in Residence, and access to its partners.
