Burning Heroes pitch competition in London, 2024
The Burning Heroes Founders Association has announced the opening of applications for startups for its London Pitch Competition.
This event offers selected startups the opportunity to pitch to investors from prominent venture capital firms including Antler, Angels Den, Fuel Ventures, Green Angel Ventures, Humla Ventures, and Mount Fund. The competition is scheduled for the 19th of February 2024 at the Home Grown Members' Club in London.
This Pitch Competition is part of a global series of offline pitches initiated in the autumn of 2023. The first session, held in Tbilisi in September 2023, was won by STORI AI, and featured jury members from the Parliament of Georgia, 500 Global, and Start, among others. London marks the second destination in this series.
Startups from various industries, including SaaS B2B sectors, consumer apps, hardware, and green tech, are invited to participate. They will compete in three categories: Best Startup, Best Product, and Best Business Model. The selection criteria, based on investors' needs, are detailed on the competition's website.
Burning Heroes is a global non-profit association focused on early-stage startups, investors, and IT talents. Since its inception in 2022, the association has conducted four startup awards globally, two industry competitions, and a conference covering regions like the USA, UK, EU, APAC, and Africa. "At Burning Heroes, we are deeply focused on social impact through entrepreneurship: our mission is to equalise opportunities for innovation. This includes providing access to venture capital via the association’s network, which is a fundamental aspect of the contests we host, including the one in London. Take, for example, our recent awards in Australia, which highlighted an impressive 80% of the shortlisted candidates as women-led businesses," says Lana Glygalo, Co-Founder, and Chief of PR at Burning Heroes.
Every participating startup will gain exposure, with the top five receiving valuable feedback from VCs, accelerators, and tech industry experts. Angels Den, a partner of the contest, will offer free onboarding for fundraising on their platform and a discounted success fee. Winners will also receive coverage from media partners like Startups Magazine and Startup Reporter.
The final pitch session will take place on February 19th, 2024, at the Home Grown Club London, the event venue partner. Home Grown Club is a private members’ club that supports entrepreneurial pioneers with resources to realise their business potential. This event aims to foster offline connections between top VCs and valuable startups.
The competition is free to enter, with applications open through burningheroes.com until February 11, 2024.
