Nominations are now open for the everywoman in Technology Awards 2027. Women have until 26th October to submit their entries for this year’s programme, which is free to enter.
Now in its 17th year, these awards represent women at every stage of their careers, from apprentices to the C-Suite, shining a light on their achievements so they can be valuable role models to inspire the next generation and help to attract more women to the sector.
There are already warning signs that AI is impacting women’s career prospects in the UK. Women working in tech and financial and professional services are at greater risk of losing their jobs versus their male peers, with estimates that AI could reduce the administrative and clerical workforce by approximately 119,000 people by 2035, positions typically dominated by women.
But there is a huge opportunity for women to step in and lead the technological transformation happening in businesses all over the country. Those same industries expected to cut jobs in administrative roles are struggling to recruit people with the digital skills they need, creating more opportunities for women in the sector.
Filling the tech jobs shortage is vital for the UK economy. It is estimated that approximately £10.8 billion could be lost due to the digital talent gap between 2024 and 2035, as well as an associated £3.3 billion in profits.
Hiring more women in these digital roles would also improve the huge gender gap in the tech sector. Women accounted for just 20% of UK AI roles among surveyed organisations in 2025, a striking 4% decline since 2020 despite it being a time of rapid AI expansion.
To drive interest in the tech sector and create the role models who will inspire career-changers and young women to train in tech, the everywoman in Technology Awards highlights the women who are defining our intelligent future.
Entries for the awards are welcome from women working in tech roles in a diverse range of sectors, with previous winners representing organisations including Barclays, Booking.com, Tesco, and Imperial College London, to name just a few.
