We are covering a broad range of topics; from starting a business in tech, launching a tech-based product, building an app, investing and fundraising for your business, marketing, PR and pitching to media, finding a co-founder, going from an idea to a technical roadmap, protecting your IP, R&D, and so much more! Industry-wise, you can expect us to cover topics in health tech, femtech, wearables, smart textiles, fashion tech, and everything in between!
About this session
“PR and Media for Health Tech and FemTech Startups” with WoW Expert-in-Residence Marina Gerner, Journalist and Writer, and Marija Butkovic, Founder and CEO of Women of Wearables, Forbes contributor
In this session, Marina and Marija will cover how to get press coverage for your femtech start-up. Women are statistically less likely to be covered by the press, and the media and PR industry can seem exclusive and very difficult to approach, so they will give you the tools and confidence you need to put yourself and your venture out there. Marina and Marija are going to provide hands-on advice and examples of how she’s usually approached by companies to cover the following points:
- What’s the point of engaging with the press?
- What do journalists want? What makes a good story for the press?
- Do you need to hire a PR professional?
- How to approach a journalist with confidence and ease
- Figuring out your message & how to make it powerful
- How to make the most of your story once it’s been published
Got a question for Marina and Marija? Ask your question when registering for the ticket.
