Tony Lysak, Chairman of The Software Institute and CEO of SkillsNow, has been working in the software industry since 1994 and has experience in software development, software consulting, product development, enterprise integration, client-side advisory, procurement, licensing, and sales. Consulting engagements include central governments, defence, banking, telco, media, pharmaceuticals and more.

In 1999 Tony co-founded NETbuilder, a company that went on to develop business units in Consulting, Managed Services, Trading Applications & Support and The NETbuilder Academy.  NETbuilder made several acquisitions and sold three business units to publicly listed and private equity backed companies in 2010, 2015 & 2020.

Tony founded the Software Institute in 2021 saying: “There is a boom in corporate adoption of technology which is accelerating the digital skills gap. There is a lack of skills but there isn’t a lack of talent. The Software Institute provides a community of experts & specialists, training & delivery professionals, leading software vendor partnerships, academics & societies. It exists as a network for members and a Platform for Corporations and Global Systems Integrators.”
