xFarm Technologies has accelerated its international growth with the acquisition of Sibium Analytics, consolidating its position as a global AgData provider and expanding deeper into Brazil’s high‑value sugarcane and bioenergy industries.
The deal marks xFarm Technologies’ sixth strategic transaction worldwide and its second in Brazil within a year, following its integration of Checkplant. The move brings Sibium’s 8 million tracked hectares into xFarm’s ecosystem, reinforcing its status as one of the world’s largest agricultural data aggregators across major crops. The transaction was supported by existing and new investors, including a new partnership with BlackRock.
Brazil remains one of the world’s most influential agricultural markets, producing more soybeans, sugarcane and coffee than any other country. With up to 80 million hectares under cultivation and agribusiness accounting for more than a quarter of national GDP, the country is a critical hub for global food and energy supply.
Sugarcane is central to Brazil’s low‑carbon economy, generating 36.8 billion litres of ethanol and 21,218 GWh of bioelectricity annually. By integrating Sibium Analytics, xFarm Technologies gains a significant foothold in this sector while expanding coverage across corn, soy, cotton, coffee, citrus and grapes.
The acquisition strengthens xFarm Technologies’ ambition to build a single, end‑to‑end agricultural intelligence platform combining on‑field Decision Support Systems, IoT hardware, remote sensing and supply‑chain analytics. The company says this unified approach enables support for row crops, tree crops, sugarcane and agro‑industrial supply chains within one ecosystem.
“Our vision has always been to support farmers and ag‑innovators with world‑class data‑driven decision making across entire agricultural value chains,” said Matteo Vanotti, CEO of xFarm Technologies. “By bringing Sibium Analytics’ deep geospatial intelligence and ESG audit capabilities into our group, and introducing our existing offering to sugarcane producers, we are creating an unprecedented, data‑driven platform for farmers and processors alike.”
The integration provides instant value for both companies’ customer bases while maintaining operational continuity.
Sibium’s clients, primarily sugarcane mills and biofuel processors, will gain access to xFarm’s IoT ecosystem, including hyper‑local weather stations, field sensors and AI‑powered Decision Support Systems to improve planning, visibility and forecasting.
Meanwhile, xFarm’s customers will be able to use Sibium’s remote‑sensing platform, Sigma Digital, and its ESG and traceability solution, Ambium Digital. These tools will be extended across all crops in xFarm’s portfolio, supporting sustainability certifications, risk monitoring and transparent data flows for enterprise partners in food, finance and insurance.
“Joining the xFarm Technologies group is a natural evolution for Sibium Analytics,” said Ronaldo Marani, Director of Sibium Analytics. “Together, we are setting a new standard for intelligence in agribusiness.”
xFarm Technologies now supports more than 600,000 farms across 24 million hectares worldwide. The company continues to pursue rapid international scaling backed by investors including Partech, Mouro Capital and United Ventures. xFarm raised €36 million in a Series C round in October 2024.
