BIO

Tom Salfield is the Co-founder and CEO of Wikifactory, a social platform for collaborative product development which supports a distributed, Open Standards based “Internet of Production" that links design and manufacturing. He is a pre-bitcoin pioneer of cryptocurrencies (co-creator of opencoin.org) and a new economist who has been working at the cutting-edge of web technologies building prototypes for start-ups and high profile companies such as Wikipedia, UN, Gartner, and IDEO.

He was previously Partner at United Diversity LLP and CTO of ImpactHub, a co-working space for social entrepreneurs which now has more than 100 locations worldwide. Prior to this he was Partner at Espians LLP which co-founded Wikihouse, an open source construction set for digitally fabricated houses for a global community of architects. Tom has a BSc in Philosophy and Economics from the LSE and an MSc in Computing Science from Imperial.
