BIO

Kate is trained as a lawyer who has come into HR via commercial and fee earning roles. Kate has an excellent reputation for enabling business transformation and establishing great cultures where leaders and people can thrive. She has worked for VC backed organisations as well as companies at all stages of growth and development: from a concept and a laptop seeking funding (which became a best-of-breed business within 18 months of going live, according to Which? And the Consumer Association) to huge global organisations that needed to pivot their operating model and businesses that were 6 months off going bankrupt. Kate is a Fellow of the CIPD and the RSA and a mentor for the CIPD’s rising HR stars programme.

In addition to Gravita, Kate is a Trustee for DEMAT (a multi-academy trust with 39 schools across 3 counties) and also a Board Advisor to Open Palm – a diversity charity seeking to improve the lives of young people in the UK by advancing education and promoting racial equality.

Kate was a Governor for 6 years at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and is on the CISI’s Integrity and Ethics Committee. She was also one of 100 women awarded the Freedom of the City to commemorate the centenary of women’s suffrage.
