Al Costa

Al Costa is an entrepreneur - he sold his first company to a NASDAQ-listed one and since then created others in US, UK, Brazil, and Spain. He is currently leading TeknTrash, which obtains data from trash, and Alkol Biotech, currently, the only provider of sugarcane in Europe. He is also a Professor of Big Data at EAE, author of five books, and he is a project advisor on biotech, AI, and high tech in general for a number of agencies in the EU.

Location, Location, Location!

In 1944, as the WWII was drawing to a close, a gentleman called Harold Samuel decided to start buying houses which had basically been demolished due to the bombing. The idea, seen crazy by many (after all, what is the value of a pile of rubble?), did work, as his company – Land Securities – went on to become the UK’s leading property company: a position it still holds today.
