Tanya Petherick

Tanya is a cross-sector business consultant, trainer and mentor specialising in leadership and management, strategy development and marketing. Passionate about helping business leaders achieve their goals, she works with individuals and teams to turn ambitions into reality. Sometimes the goals are clear from the outset; other times, the journey begins by working together to define what success looks like. With over 15 years of experience co-leading a Brighton-based childcare company employing more than 150 staff across 16 locations, Tanya understands the realities of running a business. She knows that business ownership can be exhilarating, but also challenging. Sometimes, things just don’t go to plan. Progress stalls, familiar tasks become difficult, and finding a way forward can feel overwhelming. Having experienced these challenges firsthand, Tanya brings genuine empathy, practical insight and a wealth of real-world experience to her work with business leaders. Her philosophy is simple: if I can do it better, I change it. If I can support a team member to do it better, I facilitate it. If a team member can do it better than me, I encourage it. This approach underpins her commitment to continuous improvement, empowering others and building stronger, more effective teams. With a background in software marketing and company leadership, Tanya brings a diverse skill set and a fresh perspective to every challenge. She thrives on the opportunities that challenges create: generating new ideas, bringing teams together, making calm, analytical decisions and learning along the way. Holding a Leadership MBA and a Level 7 qualification in Coaching and Mentoring, Tanya combines a strong understanding of business theory with practical experience of the realities of leadership. Her approach is tailored to the individual and the situation. When a challenge is needed, she will ask the difficult questions. When positivity is called for, she brings it in abundance. When things get tough, she offers a supportive ear. And when a team needs inspiring, engaging training, she delivers that too! Outside her consultancy work, Tanya organises the annual Club Central conference for the out-of-school childcare sector, bringing together professionals to share knowledge, exchange ideas and support the continued development of the sector.
