Sagara Gunathunga

Sagara is a Director - Solutions Architecture, based in Auckland. Sagara has over 15 years of experience in the software architecture and programming space specializing in integration, identity, and cloud technologies. He was architecting and managing WSO2 Identity Server, WSO2 Application Server, and WSO2 Governance Registry. Additionally, Sagara is a PMC member of Apache Axis and Apache Web Services projects such as Rampart, Neethi, and WSS4J, and has served as the VP of Apache’s Web Services project. Prior to joining WSO2, Sagara was a Principal Integration Consultant at IntegrationWorks NZ, where he was responsible for designing and building a cloud-native iPaaS targeting the healthcare sector Sagara has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, a bachelor’s degree in IT from the University of Colombo School of Computing and is a Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD). In his spare time, Sagara enjoys traveling, photographing, and reading about history, culture, and political economy.
