Mitchel Shephard

Mitch Shephard is co-founder of Saber, a Manchester-based AI platform that automates the high-volume correspondence and document work inside regulated operations. A mathematician by training, he read Maths at the University of Bath and went on to study a Master's in AI at King's College London. He left before finishing, unhappy with a dissertation on norm emergence in multi-agent systems and increasingly convinced that the problems worth solving weren't in building models but in applying them - what AI actually changes once it meets a real operation. After a period consulting on fundraising and technical documentation, he began working with marketers on applied AI: cutting wasted ad spend and optimising channels against cost-per-lead. That work led to a conversation with Jakub Lenski about a law firm buried in manual case auditing, and the scripts that came out of it became Saber.
