Matt Hutnell

Matt is Director for the Universities Division in Santander UK. He joined Santander in 2006 and currently leads a team of people across the UK developing strong relationships between the Bank and the Higher Education sector. Matt is responsible for the partnership agreements with the 75 partner universities in the Santander Universities UK network, these focus primarily on supporting Education, Employability and Entrepreneurship. Matt has extensive experience in Retail Banking over the past 30 years. He started his career with NatWest back in 1986 working in both Retail and Premier Banking. Since joining Santander as a Retail Regional Manager, Matt has undertaken roles as a Divisional Commercial Manager and Divisional Customer Experience Manager before joining Santander Universities as Divisional Retail Director in 2009. Matt took over as Santander Universities UK Director in 2016. Matt is married to Suzanne and they have four children. He is a keen golfer and football fan.
