Daniel Hogan

Daniel Hogan is an exited founder and product leader working in business banking, accounting and tax. He co-founded Ember, an accounting and tax platform for sole traders and landlords. After seven years building the company, Ember was acquired by Starling in 2025. He is now Director of Business Tools at Starling, where he leads products that sit inside Starling’s business banking proposition, including accounting, tax, spend management and team access. His focus is on building practical tools that genuinely help small businesses manage their finances and compliance. His background is as a chartered accountant and startup founder, now working inside a bank. He is particularly interested in product design, Making Tax Digital, pricing, and distribution.
