Andy Hughes

Andy is Head of Commercial Strategy at Alayic, an AI voice technology company helping local businesses manage incoming calls when they're too busy to answer. Alayic provides an AI-powered voice layer that can answer calls, respond to common customer questions, capture enquiries, support bookings and assist with food orders using business-specific rules. Andy leads Alayic's commercial growth strategy, focusing on two key areas: working directly with local businesses, including restaurants, takeaways, salons, trades and hospitality businesses, and developing strategic partnerships with website designers, digital agencies, consultants, ordering platforms, POS/EPOS providers, booking systems, and telecommunications companies. His focus is on making AI voice technology a practical addition to the services businesses already use, helping partners create additional value for their clients while enabling local businesses to capture more enquiries and avoid missed opportunities. Alongside his work at Alayic, Andy holds a degree in Environmental Science and has published research in network mapping and trend analysis. He is also the founder of The Pelagian Hypothesis, an independent research project exploring the possibility of prehistoric marine intelligence, biological civilisations and the potential evidence of ancient civilisations preserved within Earth's geological record.
